Frozen Lychee Margarita

Picture this – you’re in the Caribbean, on a beach lounging. The sun is shining, waves are gently crashing and, in your hand is the perfect cocktail – a frozen lychee margarita!

Okay I can’t get you a flight but this margarita is the next best thing and I don’t know about you but here in Maryland summer is coming like a wrecking ball so this drink is the perfect answer to a hot day! The lychee liqueur adds a tropical twist to the classic margarita, infusing it with an irresistible floral sweetness that’s balanced out by the tart limeade concentrate and the crisp kick of tequila reposado.

Frozen Lychee Margarita

Equipment

  • 1 blender
  • 1 margarita glass chilled

Ingredients

  • 5 oz frozen limeade concentrate
  • 6 oz ice
  • 1 1/2 oz reposado tequila
  • 1 oz lychee liqueur
  • 1 oz triple sec syrup
  • 1 lime

Instructions

Lime Zest Rim Salt

  • Cut 2 wedges from your lime and set aside for a garnish.
  • Zest remainder of lime and add to salt on a small plate. Combine with fingers until uniform.
  • Moisten rim of margarita glass by running a lime wedge around outer edge.
  • Roll moistened rim in salt to coat then chill margarita glass in freezer for 2-5 minutes.

Margarita

  • Add ice, frozen limeade concentrate, tequila, lychee liqueur & triple sec syrup to a blender and process until smooth (about 1 minute depending on your blender).
  • Pour into prepared glass, garnish with lime wedges and enjoy immediately!

    Great drink, made it for a house warming and received so many compliments. Added a little extra liquor and it still tasted great. Beware, you may become addicted!
